Ship’s engine protected against “cat fines“

BOLLFILTER solutions protect ship’s engine against “cat fines“

As a proven expert in filter components for ship engines, BOLL & KIRCH offers individual filter solutions to protect ship engines against “cat fines”. These “cat fines” are increasingly found in low-sulfur fuel oil.

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) wants to significantly reduce sulfur oxide emissions from ships. From 1 January 2020, the permissible value of sulfur content in fuel has to be reduced from 3.5 to 0.5 percent globally. However, low-sulfur fuel leads to an increase in “cat fines”, which are harmful to the engine.

BOLL & KIRCH offers individual filter solutions for fuel systems to protect ship’s engine against “cat fines”. The optimally adapted automatic filter is the only full-flow treatment that can protect the injection system and the entire engine as best as possible against “cat fines”. In the process, the critical particles in the 10 to 25 micron range are being physically retained.
