On February 9th 2015, the Bollfilter UK Service Team carried out their annual training visit at the BOLL & KIRCH global headquarters in Kerpen, Germany. The 3 day visit started with a lunchtime arrival and an afternoon session in the training workshop with their German colleagues, looking at the workings of the new automatic fuel filter type 6.72. Alex, as the newest member of the team, assisted by Michael (Service Manager) and Liam (Senior Service Engineer), completely stripped the filter to fully understand how it operates internally, before rebuilding it to working condition.

The second day of the visit involved training sessions on the existing automatic filter series, such as the type 6.64, and type 6.46. Also the old type 6.33 and type 6.50 as these filters are no longer seen too often in the field it was important for Alex in particular to gain valuable experience in service techniques and fault finding. This detailed training was followed by a full factory tour to observe the production process in its entirety, which provided the Service Team with a greater understanding of the complete product range.

The second evening afforded some free time to explore Cologne, the nearest city to Kerpen, this involved some sightseeing and the occasional visit to a German beerhouse.

Before travelling home on the third day the team had scheduled some time in the morning for electrical systems training including the automatic filter control panels types 2200 and 2210.

Following the visit, Michael was satisfied that his team had benefitted greatly from the structured training sessions and he plans to continue to develop their knowledge and skill levels to ensure Bollfilter UK continue to provide their customers with the highest level of service possible.
