Research together!

On June 17, 2021, a meeting took place with Dr. Georg Kippels, Member of the German Bundestag (CDU) and Member of the Committee for Economic Cooperation and Development, Dr.- Ing. Stefan Haep, Managing Director of the Institute for Energy and Environmental Technology e. V. (IUTA), Andrea Weißig, Managing Director of the Federation of Industrial Research Associations "Otto von Guericke" e.V. and Stefan Starke, Managing Director of Boll & Kirch Filterbau GmbH in Kerpen.

The aim of this meeting was the implementation of current projects of the Industrial Joint Research in North Rhine-Westphalia. Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung (IGF) builds a bridge between basic research and commercial application. Under the umbrella of the AiF research associations, new technologies are prepared for entire industries and increasingly across industries in order to maintain and strengthen the competitiveness of medium-sized companies.

Most IGF research projects are realized in Germany's most populous state. "Last year, 56.4 million euros, more than a quarter of the total budget of the Industrial Cooperative Research of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, were used for this purpose. This  means that North Rhine-Westphalia is traditionally the clear favorite nationwide" explained Andrea Weißig.

In three current IGF projects, in which BOLL & KIRCH is involved, the drainage properties of filters are to be optimized or, for example, a tool for the improved production of compressed air filters is to be developed. We are cooperating on these projects with the Institut für Energie-und Umwelttechnik e. V. (IUTA) based in Duisburg. Such cooperations are part of the company's success for the development of new products.
