Filtration on quarries for dust suppression

Due to the nature of work carried out on quarries, many sites require a robust dust suppression system to ensure that the air is not polluted and a safe working environment is provided. To enable this, water is taken from the on-site lagoon and distributed through very fine spray nozzles which create moisture in the air, in turn settling the dust on the ground. This lagoon is also used as a part of the UV filtration system which relies on costly disposable cartridge filters.

For this application, a BOLLFILTER automatic filter type aquaBoll® proved to be the ideal solution. Water taken from the on-site lagoon is passed through the BOLLFILTER, removing potentially damaging solids which could otherwise go on to block the fine spray nozzles or UV system.
