Digital differential pressure transmitter– DDAT 4.66.7

BOLLFILTER goes digital. The Digital Differential Indicator with Transmitter (DDAT) combines, as the name says, an indicator and a transmitter. It measures the differential pressure between two points in a system and transmits data for remote monitoring and enables a fast and safe digital data transfer. Compared to the previous DDA, the DDAT can optimize the filter and system protection. Moreover, the more accurate monitoring can enhance a faster ROI by lowering maintenance costs. Overall, it leads to an improved operation thanks to real-time process monitoring and control.

How the DDAT works

When the M12 device connector is plugged in, the DDAT starts automatically. As the differential pressure increases, the color of the LED strip continuously changes from white to red. This display allows the filter status to be visually identified from a greater distance. The different, most used outputs can be seen in the following visualisation:

The process flow

1. Detection:

The transmitter has two input ports: a high-pressure port (P1) and a low-pressure port (P2). A sensor element inside the transmitter responds to the pressure difference between these two points.

2. Signal conversion:

The sensior deforms depending on the pressure difference. This mechanical movement is converted into an electrical signal.

3. Output:

The transmitter then outputs a signal (analog or digital) that is proportional to the differential pressure.

Functionality with smartphone and app

Another feature the DDAT has, is the control via smartphone. If you shine the LED with the flashlight symbol on your smartphone for 2 seconds, a QR code will appear on the display. This code can be scanned with the BollBox app on your smartphone, allowing access to the DDAT.
Many parameters can be viewed and changed in the BollBox app. This includes the two switching points, the ability to enter a zero-point offset, the ability to rotate the display by 180°, the ability to export data, etc The DDAT can also receive a software update via the app, should that be necessary.

Benefits
+-

The BOLLFILTER Digital differential pressure transmitter– DDAT 4.66.7 – offers several benefits, wherever the differential pressure of a machine needs to be measured. The most important ones are the following:

1. Monitoring & Data Management
+-
  • Continuous monitoring of absolute pressure and pressure differences (entire system, not just the filter)
  • Real-time data for process control systems (automation, alarms, adjustments)
  • Data logging: Collect and store valuable performance information
  • Trend analysis: Differential pressure trends, flushing frequency, time between flushes
  • Display of absolute values and differential pressure trends
  • IoT support (connectivity for smart systems)
2. Usability & Operational Support
+-
  • Clear, electronic display for better visibility
  • Programmability (custom switching points)
  • Extended support: reminders and cleanliness ratings
  • Future feature: recommendation for element replacement/cleaning
3. Standardization & Efficiency
+-
  • “One-fits-all” connection: standardized solution
  • Enables 1:1 replacement without modifications
  • Reduces inventory costs
  • Simplifies maintenance
  • Foundation for intelligent filter and process optimization
4. Reliability & Innovation
+-
  • No mechanical wear or failure risk (no reed contacts)
  • Vibration resistance according to DNV Standard (Vibration Class B; 4,0 g). (siehe Beweis)
5. Extended support
+-
  • Additional functions like reminders & cleanliness evaluations enhance convenience and safety in operation
6. Fast delivery time
+-
  • Due to main production based on stock availability and not on customer orders.
